German Resturant

One of the things Carol wanted us to do while there is go to a local German Restaurant.  So we headed off to dinner. We sat down and immediately the server spilled an entire glass of ice water on Pauline.  "welcome to America" we told her, she was a really good sport about it, even though she was very wet.

And our food.  I can't remember what everyone had (the actual title, so I will try)

Jody:  Spaetzle with ham and a sauce...

Kevin some type of roast, German potato salad, and spaetzle

Jim a sandwich and salad and fries

Pauline schnitzel, potato dumplings, red cabbage. 

Carol, I don't remember....so I am completely taking a guess.....chicken with dumplings and an egg...

Dinner was good, Pauline said some things were not done correctly on her dish, but it was fun to try. 

Around Town

We spent a little time just wondering around town....This guy was a really hard chess player, we all had to try to beat him....

I was really concentrating...

Then I made my move...check and mate...

We went to Harry and David

They were making the most wonderful smelling caramel corn.  OMG  I was in love with just the smell.

Fun Center

Tuesday we went to the Fun Center. 

We played mini golf....here Carol lines up her shot.

Kevin and Pauline decided to take a couple rounds in the batting cages...

And everyone including Abby and Kassidy played a few games inside too. 

Birthday Party

We weren't able to be there on Carol's actual birthday so we had a birthday party Monday night while we were there.  Those in attendance:  Carol, Jim, Kevin, Jody, Pauline, Kim, Matt, Kassidy, Abby, Ron and Kit.

 

And we tried on Pauline's famous orange glasses...Kevin "in a bugs life"

Crater Lake

Sunday before we headed to the Ranch, we first made a detour and stopped at Crater Lake.  It was really really blue that day....I think most of these pictures speak for themselves....

 

 

Someday I really hope to spend an entire day there, and do the boat trip down on the lake....

This sign cracked me up.  Really?  You think you should stay away?  How sad that of course there are dumb people out there and this sign is necessary....
