Confirmation

Today, after we dropped off the Captive Free group back at the Church, we headed out of town to a different church service. I have been sponsor for my cousin's daughter. Her name is Aly and today she was confirmed in the church. Here is a picture of the confirmand with all her sponsors from left to right: Katie (Aly's aunt, Jody's cousin), Doug (Jody's brother), Me, and Aly. So proud of her, and I can't believe how grown up she is......I am getting old

Captive Free

Last night at church we were fortunate enough to have a great group of young men and women come and perform for us. The group is Captive Free, and we had the west coast team. Kevin and I then hosted 3 of the members overnight. So after their concert, they came home with us, and we had a great breakfast with the team this morning and they will be leading worship service at church this morning. It was very fun to meet this team of people that travel together for a year, helping promote youth ministries.

We enjoyed having them stay with us and we hope they had a good stay.

All these posts....

How is it that I have been able to do all these posts? After all lately you hardly hear from us at all. Well, for those that I talk to often you know how crazy things have been for us. And some days, by the time we are done with work, the last thing we want to do is sit at the computer and type.

But....if it is something fun...that is different. We have some trips planned this summer (and hopefully in the fall....I will get to go to Canada...I will keep you posted). So I wanted something smaller to travel with. So, I decided, that I could treat myself to a new machine.... I got one of the cute new netbooks. I got this cute little Dell. I get a small discount from work, and work also sent me Office 2007 to load on it...so that makes it great to travel with.

Right now I am in the car and we are heading back home after having our dinner out. If I had to wait till I got home to do all this blogging, I wouldn't get it done....there are just so many things at home that I get sidetracked.

While I have only had this a week, I would recommend it if you are thinking of getting a netbook.

Now I can really hardly wait till we do some real traveling......sigh....3 more weeks till vacation....(I can make it...I think I can...I think I can....I think I can...)

Fusion

Since we were in Longmont for SCHS graduation, we decided to meet our friends Kim and Ron for dinner before heading back home. We went to Fusion for dinner. It was a new restaurant for all of us, but it was really good. Though I was the "odd ball" Kim, Ron, and Kevin all had the Panko Herb Crusted Chicken:

I had the Parma Chicken:
This place is known for its martini's, so I couldn't go without trying one...so check out the "spirits" menu, on the link above.... I had "The Big O if you're Nasty"...it was yummy but you have to look it up to see what it was :)

The presentation was beautiful, but that didn't stop us from eating it. The food was great, the company was great! What a wonderful way to end a busy day. Thanks Kim and Ron for Dinner!

SCHS Graduation

Our second graduation was for Joseph, who graduated from Silver Creek High School. Since we couldn't actually make it to graduation, we went to his party at his house. It was very nice.

Here is the proud graduate:

Congratulations Joe, you did it! Yea!!!!

Joseph with his mom (Jody's cousin), Katie

Whenever we get to go to a party at Katie's house, Ismael makes home made guacamole. I know this picture doesn't do it justice. Trust me this entire bowl was gone in 15 min after it was set out. This picture is really for Jody's mom, who loves this recipe! And since she didn't go to the party...no guacamole for her....

BHS Graduation

Today is graduation day! We are actually going to two. First is Ms Leslie, a new graduate of Brush High School:

Leslie and her proud parents, Kim and Curt
I can't believe she is so grown up!
Congratulations Leslie we are Proud of you!!!

Baby's first haircut

After a year, it was finally time to mow the lawn! Here is Kevin giving it our first "haircut"

I love having a yard again!

Log Moving

At the back end of our property we have some really cool dry tree limbs. You have probably seen them in various pictures:

We had talked about moving some of them up to the house area, and use them in landscaping. Today Kevin and my dad decided it was the day. So they got our our cart and loaded them and we moved them around. I helped supervise :)

I am not Dirty!

Last weekend we had a garage sale. My great-nephew played outside all day and just had a great time. You can tell by all the dirt....though he insisted he wasn't dirty.
